Explanation of finances

Part of the care provided by dentists and oral care practices is covered by basic insurance. Dentist costs are fully reimbursed for children up to the age of 18, with the exception of crowns, bridges, implants and braces. For adults, only dentures and click dentures ('fixed' dentures) are included in the basic insurance, and most treatments are provided by a dental surgeon. You may consider taking out additional dental insurance for those dental costs that your basic insurance does not cover.

The rates within dentistry are determined by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa), commissioned by the government. If you have additional insurance for dentistry, you will be fully or partially reimbursed for the treatment up to the maximum insured amount. It is advisable to contact your health insurer if you have any questions about reimbursement. More information about costs and reimbursements can be found at:

With us, your invoices are processed in two ways: either we declare them directly to your insurance company or we invoice them directly to you via the Infomedics declaration agency.

You will receive your bill from Infomedics

In our practice we are happy to give you all the attention and good care. That's why we work together with Infomedics for sending and collecting our invoices. This means that you will receive a bill for your care from Infomedics.

Reimbursement from your health insurer

If your health insurer reimburses part of your bill, this will be clearly stated on the bill. You pay what remains to Infomedics. Do you have a question about the amount of the compensation on your account? Please contact your health insurer. Is there no compensation on the bill? Then pay everything to Infomedics and then check whether you can still submit the bill to your health insurer.

Arrange it online!

On the Infomedics website (www.infomedics.nl) you can quickly and easily arrange many matters relating to the payment of your bill, for example:

  • Check status of your payment
Go to infomedics.nl. You will find the bill checker directly at the top of the web page. Enter the description (series of numbers) on the invoice and check whether your invoice has been paid. If this is not the case, you can pay directly via iDEAL.
  • Make payment arrangements

Infomedics has a payment term of 30 days. If you are unable to pay on time, you can request a deferral of payment free of charge. You can also make a payment arrangement at a cost. You will also find more information about the Infomedics Payment Plan online.

  • View frequently asked questions

If you have a question, you can usually find the answer below Frequently Asked Questions. Otherwise, you can always contact the Infomedics Service Desk.

Do you still have a question? Then call the Infomedics Service Desk on telephone number 036 – 20 31 900 (Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

Payment terms Infomedics

On our behalf, Infomedics sends and collects invoices for the care you have received. Infomedics naturally complies with all (privacy) laws and regulations, both the rules that apply to us as a healthcare provider and the rules that apply to Infomedics by law.

What are the most important payment terms of your Infomedics bill?

  • Infomedics may, if possible, declare your bill to your health insurer. You will always see any reimbursement on the bill.
  • Infomedics expects you to pay the bill before the due date stated on the bill.
  • If you have not paid the invoice before the due date, you are in default without further notice of default being required. Because you may have forgotten it, you will receive a reminder asking you to pay the bill within 15 days after you received it. If payment is not made within this set date, Infomedics will charge interest and collection costs.
  • Infomedics may first deduct your payment from the collection costs, then from the interest charged and finally from the original amount of your account.
  • Please note that if you file a complaint or register with another healthcare provider, your bill will still ultimately have to be paid. Your payment obligation cannot be suspended as a result.

Insurance tips

Part of the care provided by dentists, orthodontists and dental surgeons is covered by basic insurance. For example, dental costs for children up to the age of 18 are fully reimbursed, with the exception of crowns, bridges, braces and implants. Dental costs for children are also not covered by the deductible.

For adults, only a very limited part of the dentist's treatments are reimbursed by basic insurance, including click and dentures. You can therefore choose to take out additional insurance for the dentist. Whether you want to take out additional insurance, and if so how extensive, is of course up to you.
